About Algoma Long Term Care

For over 50 years, Algoma Medical Center and Long Term Care has provided compassionate and caring services for older adults and individuals with health concerns. As a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility, our services include short-term and long-term care, and specialized nursing needs. Our strong emphasis on a team approach helps to nurture the mind, body and spirit with daily activities, delicious and nutritious home-cooked meals, community volunteers, and nursing and therapy staff committed to giving your loved ones the medical care they need with responsiveness, courtesy and gentleness.

Resident Quality of Life – Focusing on the whole person, not just the treatment of basic physical or cognitive needs. An individualized and personalized plan of care for each resident provides just the right combination of services to be ever ready with supportive care while optimizing each resident’s potential for independence and personal dignity.

Innovation – We continue to innovate and partner with academic institutions, allied professionals and families to develop new and improved care options for our residents. Because we understand the need to stay ahead of the curve, we have put a variety of research-driven programs into place, including food selections that support memory function, extensive focus on social interaction and wellness, and on-going assessments to provide our residents with a level of high quality care.

Valued Employees – We value and respect our staff. Our turnover rate is lower than the industry average. This is imperative to the success of our mission. Rigorous training in practices, procedures and communications drives exceptional care and services to our residents.

Integrity – This underlies all we do at Algoma Medical Center. Simply put, we do what we say we will do. We do not make promises we cannot keep. Residents and their families put a great deal of trust in our staff and the services we provide.
